Topamax Birth Defects

Topamax birth defects can arise after pregnant women take the prescription drug Topamax (Topiramate), which has shown increased risks of oral birth defects. It is prescribed for migraines and epilepsy.

In March 2011, the FDA released information recommending that pregnant women avoid Topamax during pregnancy because research shows links between Topamax and birth defects.
